Dunlop 209 GPA's, cuz they were $330 for 2 rears and a front.  Ntec technology, but they are not quite as good as the 211's

I have been running Shinko 005's for awhile now. So have my buds up north. They stick great, and wear well. Never had an issue with them...

i went with the raven oo9's for price but next i will probably go with a stickier shinko just to try 'em! never had a problem with the 009's besides one rear slide when new, ( got cocky with the throttle on  cold new tires! lol) kind of an "operator error" deal! ;)

I run what I can finnd a good deal on that sticks well.
Currently Im running Pilot powers, I still have a few sets left from the stash I bought in early 2010. They work great IMHO.
I havve tried Pirelli Diablos, There Ok but tend to overheat if pushed hard.
Power Pures, Great for tracckdays IMHO, Slow to heat up on the street. They really like to be ridden hard constantly.

Longevity.
PP = Min 750 miles, Max 2000 miles
Pirelli's = 2000 to 2500 miles
Power Pures LESS than 1000 miles

In 2010 I went thru 2 sets of pirellis, 1 set of pures, 3 sets of Powers in a total 6000 miles -+

Thats the thing about tires, Due to there construction Different tires work or dont work for some people.

You just havve to try a set till you find what you like.

I also dont subscribe to the Myth of "You shouldnt mix types or brands"

I rin the Pilot Pures myself. Haven't had a better tire IMO they do take a bit to warm up and when I am going to ride aggressive I have to take them down to about 28psi. But they stick incredibly well. I like the PP 2ct's alot better for the street but looks like I am nto going to be able to get ahold of them anymore soon. Heard someone tonight say they are not making them anymore? ???

The Pure is basically the 2CT. Every few year they change the marketing scheme on tires, it's a way to keep them new in the ever changing face of tire competition.  I remember back in the day when the 204GP was the stickiest tire you could get your hands on. Now aday, they would be considered garbage.

The pure is Different from the 2ct. The pure has a larger soft side compound then the 2ct with 5% tread void over the 2ct 10%, or so I have read.

The Pure is also a softer/stickier compound. the 2ct is the same compound as a PP on the edges.

well my fave tire of all time has to be the Durotour "tour elite" , high speed rating , sticky and long wear , just for the pure principle of it  i don't buy them any more cause they are made in china or taiwan , i bought a set of pirelli route 66 cruiser/touring tires and i am thoroughly satisfied with the performance/price  , i will probably put a set of shinkos on the ole kamikaze Honda they sure can't be any worse than the ching shin's that were on it when i bought it .. :23
i miss the good ole days , back when i was the only lunatic on the road ..

Back in the day.. I loved the Michelin tx11 front and tx23 rear.  Switched to the Dunlop 591gp... loved those til the D364 rear came out. Matched with a sportmax gp front... good combo. Ran various dunlops and b-stones for years before going the Metzler/Pirelli route... then to the pilot powers. then 2ct. Rode a 600RR at a track day that had the Ntec's and LOVED them.. i mean like had to change my leathers afterwards loved em...

Ive heard the Ntec's are pretty sweet, I just picked up a set of Power race Dot's.

As street tires go Pirelli Diablos are Ok, Pilot powers are better and about all anyone needs for spirited street riding IMHO.

Tried a set of Avon Storms ONCE, Hated them, Got tired of them sliding around on me at the gap.  Yep wrong tire for that place..

Power Pures are good for "I" Trackdays but seem to take forever to warm up for both trackdays and street.

Just my opinions for tires I have tried. Im always looking for cheap tire deals and wont pay more than $200 a set.

I am liking my Pirelli MT 75's that Curt put on. I don't have much experience on the bike tires, but I do know that after about 300 miles I am really liking these compared to the crap stock Dunlaps that were on the bike when I bought it. Plus I have the scooter size tires that can be had for a little over $100 for both tires!
