Bump to keep at the top. I always find it interesting when the photogs tell me how fast I am on my Viffer, then ask me if I know Sam. I tell them we ain't met yet, but I've seen his abilities. Anyone who can put a VFR on the angle he does, as smooth as he does, has knowledge to be heard and learned from. Fast isn't always smooth, but smooth is always fast.

Thanks JLOWE.   Truthfully, I dont try to be fast.  On unknown roads Im really slow..  being familar with the bike n road helps the most..

+1 to smooth = fast...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I'm the same way, biggest thing I preach to people is to learn the road first, then learn it again. I watched a noob squid almost run off the Hill Saturday evening, "trying to keep up with others and me" . I had told him prior to leaving the overlook not to try to keep up, but try to be smooth and learn the road. He didn't listen and almost got seriously injured or killed trying to ride WAAAAYYYYYY outside of his ability. From behind I saw a full lock front and rear brake with hopping and chatter headed for the edge. Thankfully there was a pull off on the outside and he some how got lucky enough to stop and not wreck. Blamed it on his front brake, not his inability, lack of skill and knowledge. :groan

We all make mistakes, Ive found most times if you just go ahead n go for the corner you will make it..  1 nite I forgot where i was on the road and a corner snuck up on me (around 1am). I locked the front trying to brake so hard, No way to actually stop as i was too deep into it and just layed it in as far as I thought i could.  Body, brake, and most importantly BELIEVE !!!!

That has saved my ass several times. I pretty much just get mad at myself and hold the throttle look through the turn and go. Its a mind thing. Just forget what u were doing n do what u wanted to do with aggressiveness u will be good in most occasions. There are those few where its not going to help no matter what u do.
