Get in touch with phil (2wheeltech) he will take care of u. Get the 190/50 not 55 17. Read That a lot of people say it helps with cornering. I got the 190/55 and it looks huge compared to what it looks like it needs to be

190/50, thats all I use, what the bike is supposed to have, and is capable of using all the lean angle
Power 2CT and the bike can give me, only cornering issues I have is my occasional miscalculation

I still have a good 2CT power on the front so I'm hering one more on the back, after this I may try a different tire, Powers are good but burn up quick for me anyways

Yea, big diference, consistency, and control, easier to get that quick, "oh crap" late brake tap entering an apex, lol...of course I try not to make this method a habit, but it's forgiveness is there should you need it

Yeah I'm jealous. Think instead of white and black carbon I'll do hotrod black or satin and carbon.

So I am most likely going to own a 03 z1000 in the next couple of weeks if the guy still has it.

I consulted with my suspension guy @ FBI. And I mentioned the 636 fork swap. He said (which you guys already know) that the zx6r forks are 30 mil longer. And I told him about setting them 30 mil higher in the clamps, etc.

He said he will check into it, and get back with me about the best way to go. I was wanting to go with some Ohlins cartridges, and Ohlins fully adjustable shock. He can get me the shock, no problem. So I'm half way there. Now, just waiting to hear back about the forks.

He said he could do me a kit in the stock forks for cheap, but they won't be adjustable. So I dunno.

I'll report back soon on it.

Okay, As far as a Stock swap, 636 are by far the BEST way to go. personally, I have done alot with Z1000's and without just going full Ohlins the 05, 06 636 forks are the best way to go. And the Ohlins rear shock is pretty sick. But if funds aren't available I personally liked my 636 rear with a stronger spring to compensate for the weight of the bike and my fat arse. haha

For you guys to run the hill like y'all do, I'll take the plunge and get the zx6r front end.

That's if this guy don't back out the deal.

+1 on the above posts, 636 tubes with as much $ as you can spend on what's inside the tubes and also the rear , had both mine valved and sprung at race shop, $ well spent, that's the Skyway set-up lol

I'm going to go with the 636 front end after talking to you guys and Donald. I work on a boat and I'm gone 28 days at a time. The guy is in a rush to sell the bike so he will be dropping it off in the next couple of days to my gf. If by chance I do end up with it, I've seen a couple of 636 front ends on eBay for $400ish. And I will buy one the minute the bike is at my house.

The bike maybe has bent shifter forks so it may cost me a extra 1k to get it fixed, but the price the guy wants, it's still well worth it.
