My old '76/'77 GS 750
« on: March 17, 2011, 03:42:50 pm »
Hey, i found these today and thought id put them up in here. Its one of my old GS 750 Suzuki's. Built to ressemble a drag bike. It was slow though.. only would run an 11.89. It had flat slide mikuni's, a vance & hines pipe,Dyna "S" ign. 5deg advanced timing,Accel coils, wires and plugs, clip-ons, lowered 1 1/2", chopped front fender, frame painted black with silver flake in it. Body in chameleon(sp) metal flake in laquer. with later model mags. I had a GS1100 swingarm and GSXR wheels for it, but never got that far before someone offered to buy it for the right price. Its really dirty in these pics..i rode daily, no matter the weather...

got me beat , the best i ever did in one year was 18,000  miles on a  1984  LTD 440 , and then it was worn out , i kept the maintenance up on it , but it only had two gears , off and wide open  , you could slop the pistons around in the bore when i got done with her :18 :21 LOL i killed a brand new motorcycle in one year ,  those old GS Suzuki's like yours were the kings of speed  , with full roller bearing bottom ends , forged cranks , pistons and cams , under skirt piston oilers , true roller chains , all right from the factory , number 1 in speed and only second to the GL 1000 in longevity , if they had added water cooling to them , they would go 100,000 miles too  :4  , if riding motorcycles is like piloting a plane ,  when you strapped on a GS 1150 you were the  ROCKET MAN , it took lots of stupidity and guts to ride those old super bikes wide open , LOL i sure miss the good ole days , sometimes.

Cool.........And being in the 11's in the quarter isn't that slow for those bikes. New liter bikes are only a few seconds off from that.
