So anyway, I'm back in a boot factory, but so far I've done more training and supervising than anything else.

I may like this job.

So, I'm back in a boot factory, been training my coworkers and new boss on how to operate a Desma  machine.

Recent events have highlighted my more eccentric skill set however.

They are taking me off the production floor and appointing me as maintenance.

Seems this means anything from industrial machine repair and metal fab to cleaning the bathrooms and taking out the trash.

But, no more production floor.

Woo mother f'n Hoo!!

I get paid to be an industrial handy man.

Might even get a trip to Germany to train at the factory, but ain't holding my breath on that one.

Not a supervisor, but expected to act like one.

Essentially, if I see it needs done, I just go do it.

And I'm the first maintenance guy in the building (new start up co)

I think I'm going to like this job.

I am currently a project engineer for a telecom company.  The company's niche in the industry is cell towers and cell tower sites.

Believe me I understand what you guys are sayin.  We don't build them for ourselves.  We build them for company's American Tower or Crown Castle.  Those guys own towers/sites and rent space to AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and the like.  And the demand for NEW towers isn't there anymore.  The vast majority of our work now is actually upgrades and modification work on existing sites.

Hi, I'm new here and I just moved to Knoxville.
I'm working in the offshore. Good job and lots of free time to ride my bike.
I love touring around the country side.
Bill.

BillJ I just saw your post in the New Members Introduction thread.  What do you do "working in the offshore"?  The first thing that comes to mind is oil rigs in the ocean, but that seems like it would be an aweful big commute from knox-vegas.

Hi BudLong, I'm in the oil researching so on boats and not on rigs.
For my employer it doesn't matter where I live since I work all over the world and have to fly anyway.
