MotoGP Championship to be decided at Valencia

It’s going to be a great weekend to be a Spanish motorcyclist.  The final MotoGP race of the season will be at the Valencia track on Sunday and the two leading contenders for the championship are both Spanish riders.  The ultra talented Marquez leads the championship race by 13 points going into the final race…an amazing finish to his rookie year.  The challenger, Lorenzo, is the reigning MotoGP champion and has some momentum on his side as he has been steadily whittling down Marquez’s points lead during the second half of the season.  On the face of it, Marquez should be a shoe in, needing only to finish 4th to win the championship even if Lorenzo wins the race.  But, as the race at Phillip Island and Marquez’s disqualification proved, there is nothing certain in racing.  Lorenzo’s teammate, Vale Rossi, has said that he’ll help Lorenzo if he can.  Rossi knows how these last races can turn out, having lost the championship by a few points to Nicky Hayden at the last race in 2006.

So, who do you all think will win?  Marquez or Lorenzo?
