What's Happening, Where are ETB Folks?
« on: November 28, 2017, 11:14:14 am »
I have enjoyed this site and still do (I especially like posting ride reports thinking they might be of interest or of use for ride planning purposes?) & (I like the information that pops up on here -- Chris, Ian, Marc, provide a wealth of info, use to be a lot of others doing the same).  :21

The site works so well, a lot of effort in the past by folks to technically get it functional. There use to be a lot of folks posting. I hear from some folks that FACEBOOK (I am not into that as of now - may be forced to get into it) has reduced the use of sites such as ETB.  :banghead

All that said, I do wonder if it is worth the expense (I guess Chris and Ian have accepted all the expense -- I am still willing to chip in if others are), to keep going as seems only a few people are posting (me, Chris, Ian, Marc, and a few others).  :(

I hope no offense taken, I just wanted to bring this up and maybe see what others think.

Between work, family, and school I just don't have the time to really participate (or ride beside commuting). I check the forum regularly to ensure everything is in order.

I am around for the duration.  :happypep :happyrider :yw :21

Keep posting ride reports (hope they are not to repetitious as only so many roads around here and I think I have ridden nearly all). Did a new one or two today with Jackie.

One I had wondered about for sometime (get to Meadows Creek Firetower by other than the short gravel road from Hwy 107 - it is about 3 miles up there that way).

The new one from Long Creek Rd like 9 miles and was very ride-able today (need to make sure the road is dry (might be slippery if wet as not a lot of gravel in some places).

Just seems to have died off a lot.  :(

I'm still here Paul.  Just ran into a hectic bit between home projects and the holidays.  Today I'm decorating the tree with the help of my grandling Andrew.

Oh yeah, and a new kitten that I'm coming to think of as the smallest and cutest of the Lords of Chaos, destroyers of worlds...or at least my furniture.

I rode over to a bar to meet Ian last night and sort of help him prep for a final by discussing his subject.   There's a lot to discuss...Western Civilization...Middle Ages to present.

Anyway...boy was it chilly riding home at midnight!  I was cowering behind the fairing and promising myself a hot cup of coffee when I made it home.  (That'll teach me...pack the insulated coveralls in the saddlebags and I would have been ready.

We particularly focused on the Scientific Revolution (Galileo, Newton) and the Enlightenment (Voltaire, Rosseau, Smith) and yes, discussed that the fight between faith versus facts is still being fought.

Thought about riding today but the cold and snow talked me out of it.  Started the bike just to keep its blood flowing.

Boy, the weather lately has been screwy.  Freezing one day, walking around in a t-shirt the next.

(Good to hear from you Skeeter.)

I have been ghosted a while myself.

Havent ridden much for a while short of to and from work. And at the end of 12 and 14/16 hour days i just didnt have the ass to do more than make it home.

My bike has been down a while, the oldest boy has been working at it.

He has bought himself one, i might take the time to put up a thread and a few pics.

The spousal unit and i are about to take on a new carerr in straight truck expediting starting in fdbruary, that should be fun, but no way to get much ride time.

I still drop by every great once in a while, but havent posted.

Yes paul, i still manage to read a ride report or two.

I guess i have to admit to a serious case of the red ass directly related to a member of this site, and that has kept me away, childish on my part i know.

But better to walm away than disrupt the site.

And for thoss who dont know, im doing a kawaski vulcan 800 2005 model i picked up for $500.

Still have whats left of pearl sittinv downstairs in the jaccuzi room.

Still cant bring myself to touch her because it makes me mad.

Sold off the rest of the goldwing collection too.

Oh we, im ramblin ( anybody else get a whiff of steve martin when they hear that?)

Ride on good people!
What does "riding season" mean?

Thanks for the quick update and I was glad to hear that you drop by once in a while even if you're not posting.  But I'll be selfish and hope you find the time to chat.

Again, very good to hear from you!
