2017 Bike Miles Ridden
« on: January 03, 2018, 12:27:57 pm »
After a nice visit with friends and family down in TX and LA, I came back to TN on Jan. 1.  So I didn't get to ride Jan. 1 this year but will probably take a short ride this week.  Took pics of both bike's odometers to see how many miles I rode last year.  I rode 12,176 miles on the Honda NC700X and 5,480 miles on the Valkyrie for a total of 17,656 miles.  Not bad for an old codger.  And no miles for cross-country rides like I normally do.  But this is a new year and maybe many more rides.

Hope all of you East TN Bikers had a great holiday season.

Timely TOPIC --- I had just calculated my Miles for the Year and came on to make a similar topic and saw yours.  :pop

Suzuki Burgman 400 Scooter --- 9490 miles.
Honda CB500X  --- 11,066

TOTAL --- 20,556 Miles for 2017.

PS: Heck of a bunch of that we did together. :happypep

Include Bike History (a document I update at beginning of a New Year) TOTAL MILES since May 2001 371,220 +/- some. There is some round off in the total

PAULRIDES My Ride History since 2001, could say since 1962, but no details on first 3 years. California rides (time frame 1962 to 1965) for which I do not have details. I had a Honda Dream (150cc) as first MC that I ever owned. I traded for a BSA (350cc). I sold the BSA when we left CA in 1965. I rode on street for about 1 1/2 years and about the same in dirt. I gave up street riding when I went to dirt. Dirt riding was trails, and roads (mostly desert riding). I never did any official racing, just some playing around on race tracks.

I started riding again in TN in May of 2001 at age 63 and have details for that.
Paul's Machines May 2001 to Jan 1, 2018 (Total 371,220 Miles).

1) 2001 Honda VLX 600 bought new May 2001.  I sold Jan 2006 with 71,000 miles on it. 71,000 Round off

2) 2005 Kawasaki 800 Classic bought in Jan 2006 with 2500 miles. I sold May, 2011 with 86,500 miles on it. 84,000 Round off

3) 2007 Suzuki Burgman 650 Scooter bought in March of 2009 with 1700 miles. It broke down with total of 73,900 in Nov, 2013. It was sold broke down in Aug of 2014. For Info, buyer fixed it with repair to the CVT (Plastic Gears that drive the Primary Pulley Position and the CVT Belt changed). 72,200 Round off

4)2008 Kawasaki NINJA 500 in May of 2011 with 1000 miles on it. I sold July 19, 2015 with 60,120 miles. It was a fun machine; I liked it, just a bit uncomfortable for a 77yr old.
59,100 Round off

5) 2011 Suzuki Burgman 400 Scooter bought Dec 26, 2013 with 5200 miles on it. It had 46610 as of Jan 1, 2017 (Jan 2018 56,100) and still riding it. It is a great ride for my rides. I like it better than the 650, sometimes I could use the extra power of the 650 for passing or when cruising at 70 MPH(actual).Total Bike as of Jan 1, 2018 = 50,900

6) 2014 Honda CB500X bought July 23, 2015 with 15,041 miles on it after an 11 mile test ride. So, say 15,030 miles when I first rode it. It had 37,984 as of Jan 1, 2017 (Jan 49,050) and still riding it. Total Bike as of Jan 1, 2018 = 34,020

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

And if this weather doesn't warm up a bit, I will not get nearly as many miles ridden in 2018.  At least let it get up to 32, maybe even 40.
